Join in on the fun for a workshop in October, with professional artist Gayle Weisfield. Gayle will introduce you to an innovative style of wet-n-wet watercolor painting, You will spend three days, working with other artists exploring the beauty of Cannon Beach in transparent watercolor. Gayle’s energetic and informative style in watercolor technique will inspire you, as you learn a fresh new approach to watercolor painting.

Retreat  includes:

3 nights lodging, tips and tax

Tuition 3 days plus use of a Boga Board

3:00 Open to check in at Muriel’s Guest House in Tolovana Park
5:00 Meet at Douger’s Restaurant for hoer d’oeuvres, refreshing beverages (no host)
7:00 return to Muriel’s for Opening lecture

Saturday

8:00-9:00 Breakfast (included)
9:00 Lecture and demo painting
12:30 Lunch (no host or $5 cold cut plate)
Demo and paint till 3:30
3:30 to 6:30 Free time – explore Cannon Beach
6:30 to 7:00 Cocktails
7:00 Dinner

Hwy 26 to Hwy 101 South to Cannon Beach.
Take TOLOVANA EXIT
Left on Hazel St.
Turn right on Brailer Rd. towards beach second house on right.

When to arrive:

Supply list:

I will have some supplies available for purchase.

  • variety of different papers
  • tube pigments
  • some brushes
  • paper stretchers,
    almost everything you will need, to have a fun weekend of painting.
You should bring all your standard painting supplies – whatever you already have in your paint box.
  • Do not purchase watercolor pads, for outside sketching
  • A blotter, this is a roll of toilet paper rolled inside a thick layer of paper towel
  • A pallet, any large white plate is fine, but a large plastic pallet with a lid is best
  • A fine spray bottle, for water
  • Roll of paper towels
  • Pallet knife if you have one
  • Pencil and soft eraser
  • Sketch book
  • 2 large water tubs
  • Camera
